The iLok License Manager application replaces the license and iLok management sections of the iLok.com website. While an internet connection is still required, you do not need to manage your licenses via an internet browser such as Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Internet Explorer. After installing the License Manager, you will be able to drag licenses from your account to your iLok and back again. The iLok.com website will continue to house the Store and support resources for your convenience.

In the iLok License Manager, a license is an asset that you have purchased or acquired for your account. You will activate it at a specific location. A location is where you can store an activation, such as your iLok or machine. The Account View displays your licenses, and the grid is adjustable.

You can select which columns to show by right-clicking on the table header. You can dynamically sort the list of licenses by clicking on a column header and dragging the columns to reorder them.

The tabs across the top show you these views of your account:

  • All Licenses - Displays all licenses in your account, both activated and not activated.
  • Available - Displays the licenses that are suitable for activation to a location, similar to the Licenses Available on the old iLok.com
  • All Activations - Displays only your activated licenses (those on locations) - This view is most similar to the My Licenses section in the previous iLok.com
  • Unavailable indicates that licenses have expired, been surrendered, or been moved to another account.
  • Hidden - Displays licenses that you've chosen to hide from other views. Only licenses that have not been activated at any site are eligible to be hidden.

To HIDE a license:

  • Navigate to another tab.
  • Right-click on a license that is not activated in any area.
  • Choose HIDE from the pull-down menu.

To SHOW a hidden license:

  • Navigate to the Hidden tab.
  • Right-click the license and select SHOW from the pull-down menu.

You may download the data and utilize it offline in a variety of tools, making it ideal for tracking licenses in large or small accounts.

Managing licenses has just gotten easier. Need to transfer a license to your iLok Anti-piracy protection app or from your app to your account? Simply drag and drop. It's that easy. Licenses in bold type are those you haven't looked at previously, making new entries in your account easier to spot.

If the detail pane is hidden, use the "Show Details" button. You can also start the Activate, Deactivate, and License Transfer procedures from the detail pane.

Some of your licenses might be bundled together. Software publishers can deposit licenses in two categories: locked and unlocked.

  • Locked groups (formerly known as Bundles) always stay together and must travel as one unit.
  • Licenses in unlocked groups can be divided up; some group members may be on an iLok while others remain in your account or on a different iLok.

When you drag a member from a group, only one license is moved if it is from an unlocked group, and all members of the group move if it is from a locked group.

Your registered iLoks will display in the Locations list on the left of your screen. The list covers both offline iLoks registered to your account and currently plugged-in iLoks. Black icons indicate a connected location, whereas gray ones indicate that the place is offline. You will be able to see what is on the offline iLoks, allowing you to better manage your license inventory.

Temporary replacement licenses keep you going while your damaged iLok undergoes RMA License Recovery and Replacement. When you submit an RMA order, temporary licenses are deposited into your account immediately. To ensure continuing access to your iLok-enabled software, activate the temporary licenses on a spare iLok Anti-piracy software.

When you transfer a license, you will be prompted to validate your account information by logging in again. This protects you if you leave your account signed in and allow others to access your computer. During a transfer, you are asked to input the User ID to whom you are transferring the licenses; be careful when entering the destination User ID because transfers cannot be reversed.

Software publishers can now supply you with a unique form of license that can be shared over your local network. You can use the iLok License Manager to set up your networked computer as a server and distribute these licenses to other machines on your network. The adoption of Zero Configuration standards makes it simple to establish connections between the server and the licensing users. There are many levels of privacy available, allowing you to make your network either private or public. Network licenses are perfect for classes and large enterprises that need a reliable license sharing solution.
