Pianoteq is an award-winning virtual instrument that you may install on your computer (PC or Mac). It is available in both standalone and instrument plug-in formats for VST, AAX, and AudioUnits hosts.

The software stands out from other virtual instruments because the instruments are physically represented, allowing it to imitate the playability and intricate behavior of genuine acoustic instruments. By avoiding the use of samples, the download size is only a fraction of that of other virtual instruments, making it suitable for use on any modern laptop.

The app's engine and physical model have been refined in version 6, boosting realism and acoustic presence across all instruments: acoustic pianos, electro-acoustic pianos, historical instruments, and chromatic percussion. Playing has become even more enjoyable than before.

Pianoteq Standard provides unique and strong options for enhancing and modifying the sound, such as adjusting the unison width, hammer hardness, or string length. You can position up to 5 virtual microphones around the instrument and use external reverb impulse files. You may upgrade to the PRO version at any moment.

Pianoteq Stage is ideal for the budget-conscious artist who does not need to adjust the sound. The stage features the same instruments, sounds, and gameplay as Standard and PRO. You may upgrade to the Standard or PRO version at any time.

Pianoteq PRO is the most advanced version, designed for creative composers and demanding studio engineers. In addition to the Standard version, it provides all of the tools required to work in a really professional environment, including the ability to alter 30 parameters for each note on the keyboard and work with audio at up to 192 kHz.

Steinway & Sons has validated the sound and playability of the virtual instruments Steinway Model D and Steinway Model B, which benefit from the improved physical model. These amazing virtual grand pianos will appeal to all musicians looking for the most iconic piano sound characteristic.

It improves your productivity by supporting the VST3 format and the ARM architecture (Linux only, for example on Raspberry Pi 3 boards). It contains chord identification, and the tuning part has been enhanced with new tools. The standalone version now includes a MIDI playlist, a better MIDI archive, and the ability to output audio in FLAC and MP3 codecs in addition to WAV.
