With Ventoy, Windows PC users may build bootable USB sticks, SSDs, NVMe, and SD cards that include any operating system ISO container without having to format the disk beforehand. Ventoy is a FREE open-source boot management tool.

By using this method, the Ventoy developers have made it possible for computer users worldwide to create bootable USB drives more easily and to use them for standard USB purposes even when they are not booting.

Better more, this tool lets users choose how many ISO files to include on the USB drive, so all of them are available right away when a home, business, or school computer is restarted. Ventoy will first display a selection of possible ISO files, allowing users to select which one to load, as opposed to forcing them to boot just one by default, as practically all other boot managers do!

Ventoy is available for download from the internet as a compressed ZIP archive that users must manually unpack from any location on their local or external drive rather than as an automatic installer. With this strategy, Ventoy has prioritized portability over usability, giving technicians and seasoned PC users quick access to this useful tool on portable drives when switching between PCs. Setting up Ventoy on an external USB device is a straightforward process.

This app merely moves the custom boot mini app to the drive; it does not format the ISO or create the bootable header on the drive. This lets users load up the drive with as many bootable OS versions as they'd like by just transferring ISO files there whenever it's convenient for them. Users are greeted with the Ventoy boot listing when inserting their USB drive into the computer, which prompts them to select which of the discovered ISO files they would want to load.

The program operates flawlessly on both older UEFI motherboards and Legacy BIOS motherboards, and it can handle ISO files larger than 4GB. Developers have tested over 800 different ISOs containing operating systems of all kinds as of the time this evaluation was written.
