It grew into a team of people who began to produce community-changing projects. The Technic website and Forums provided a forum for users to debate issues respectably, with hard-hitting moderators and the appearance of quality control. The software finally realized that consumers don't want to manually modify.jar files to play modded Minecraft.

Tekkit enabled server operators to run and play a heavily modded Minecraft server by easily pointing users to a standard client, introduced modded Minecraft to hundreds of thousands of players, and provided thousands of (mostly hopeful) YouTube stars with a block of content to play with. Voltz featured an unknown team and their creations, resulting in a massive bank of eager customers within a week of its release. More recently, the new Technic Launcher and Technic Platform are positioned to further streamline modded Minecraft, allowing content developers, server operators, and players to relax and play, create, claim, and enjoy their favorite game with as little difficulty as possible. 

Technic, as an identity and community, has left its stamp on Minecraft; what was once a.zip file is now a communal powerhouse numbering in the hundreds of thousands. The Technic Platform now allows players, server operators, content creators, map makers, and aspiring YouTube stars to help shape Minecraft into whatever they want it to be.

Popularity 
The prior platform sorting was flawed. If you don't get in early, you'll never make it to the front page. That's done. Popular packs rise to the top, while dead packs plummet to the bottom. 

Better Solder Integration 
Fewer 504s, more connections. The Solder integration has been cleaned up. Set up your own Solder installation and serve your custom modpack per-version, saving you a lot of traffic in the process. 

How to Install Mod Packs?

Search for it. 
The search bar on the left side of the launcher might help you find the packs you're looking for. Simply enter a single term, and the best packs from the platform that match will be brought to your launcher. Do not see what you are looking for? To show additional results, click the "Find more" option at the bottom, and then select the second installation method. 

Install From the Platform. 
Almost anything can be entered into the search bar, and the launcher will do its best to convert it into an installed pack. Got a Platform API link? That will work. The Platform API link can be copied to your clipboard by clicking "Install this mod pack" on the mod pack Platform page. Then copy and paste the URL into the Launcher's search field.
