R-Drive Image is a proficient program that creates disk image files for backup or duplication reasons. A disk image file is an exact, byte-for-byte replica of a hard drive, partition, or logical disk that may be produced with various compression settings on the fly without halting Windows OS or interrupting your operation. These drive image files can subsequently be saved to a variety of locations, including removable media like CD-R(W)/DVD, Iomega Zip or Jazz drives, and so on.

R-Drive Image recovers images on the original disks, any other partitions, or even the free space of a hard drive on the fly. To restore the system and additional locked partitions, switch to pseudo-graphic mode directly from Windows or execute the utility's bootable version from a CD disc or diskette.

R-Drive Image allows you to completely and quickly restore your system following significant data loss caused by an operating system crash, malware attack, or hardware failure. The program can also be used for mass system deployment, which involves setting up a large number of similar PCs. In other words, you can manually configure one machine, produce an image of it, and then deploy it to all other systems, saving time and money.

If you simply need to recover a few files from a disk image, you can attach it as a virtual disk and copy those files directly from the disk image with Windows Explorer or another file program. R-DriveImage is one of the best backup and disaster recovery options for preventing data loss following a tragic system breakdown.
