MacroMaker is a compact and dependable productivity tool that allows users to design their own macros that contain any combination or sequence of keyboard keys, mouse motions, and mouse button pushes, significantly increasing workflow and automating repetitive chores. This application is especially useful for users who face or are compelled to perform very recurring procedures on their home or work PCs, and who waste a lot of time repeatedly pressing the same button or even larger sequences.

This software can record such procedures, no matter how large or little, whether they include simple inputs or intricate and pixel-accurate mouse clicks, and save them as macro profiles that can be activated using a simple user-defined keyboard shortcut.

MacroMaker has a single dashboard interface with two separate halves, which may cause some confusion for first-time users seeking easier accessibility. Thankfully, the app has fully realized help instructions, allowing anyone to easily understand all of the software's tools and secrets. Simply said, the left side of the program is used to create and manage macro presets (Add, Edit, Delete, Export, Import, and Execute), while the left is used to manage Recordings connected with the currently selected Macro.

The recording can be added or altered using an Edit Macro tool, which will display a brand new and somewhat intricate window containing all potential input commands via a (somewhat difficult to use) Virtual Keyboard. Keep in mind that keyboard commands can only be added by clicking on the virtual keyboard key by key, which can significantly lengthen the process of generating more complex macros.

In addition to triggering recorded Macros with a pre-defined keyboard shortcut, the MacroMaker program has a few other surprises in store: it can trigger macros using a built-in time scheduler, or even when it identifies a special word or phrase written by the user!

PROS

  • Automates chores efficiently.
  • Easy macro production.
  • Several trigger choices.
  • Free and light.

CONS

  • This application has been discontinued.
  • Dashboard confusion.
  • The UI is complicated.
  • Key by key input.
  • Less advanced than alternatives.

MacroMaker is not as advanced as some other alternative apps in this product category, but it is lightweight, operates dependably, offers several customization options, and, most importantly, is entirely free. The program is also completely designed to function on older versions of Windows OS (such as Windows 98 and XP), which is particularly appealing to businesses and organizations who continue to rely on such operating systems for a number of purposes.
