A free, open-source, multiplatform, multilingual editor (compatible with PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl and Tcl, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and template languages such as RHTML, Template-Toolkit, HTML-Smarty, and Django) is called Komodo Edit from ActiveState. Syntax coloring and background checking identify mistakes instantly, and calltips and autocomplete assist you while you type. accessible on Linux, macOS, and Windows.

With XPI extensions, you can make custom plug-ins. With support for XPI extensions, you can use all of the regular Mozilla APIs based on XUL, XBL, and XPCOM, together with your own for Python and JavaScript, just like you can with Firefox. Code Folding, Code Snippets, Emacs keybindings, and Vi emulation are additional features.

If you want an editor that is both simple to use and powerful, Komodo Edit is a fantastic choice. The Komodo IDE might be the right solution for you if you require more sophisticated features like debugging, unit testing, code rewriting, code profiling, and some fantastic integrations with other technologies (Gulp, Grunt, PhoneGap, Docker, Vagrant, etc.).

Features and Highlights

Monitor Modifications
A new left margin has been added to the editor to indicate unsaved edits and any uncommitted SCC changes. You may undo specific changes by clicking on the margin, which also displays a diff window of the modifications. Lovely!

Commando: Access Anywhere
This robust popup window is Komodo's combined replacement for the Fast Open and Invoke Tool dialogs from earlier releases. Fuzzy matching, match highlighting, toolbox search, file search (find any file within a folder), bookmark integration, shortcuts (go-tool) integration, and custom category filtering are all features offered by Commando.

GoLang Help
Komodo now supports Google Go (GoLang), which offers capabilities like code folding, syntax coloring, syntax checking (linting), and code intelligence.

Viewer for Markdown
When you make changes to the Markdown text, Komodo automatically updates the contents of the preview of the generated HTML that appears within a Komodo split view. You don't even need to save the changes.

Helper for Kopy.io
Now, you may share code samples with others right from Komodo, just like with Pastebin. Just choose some text in the editor, then use the context menu by right-clicking and selecting Share Code via Kopy.io. By using Kopy.io's client-side encryption feature, you may increase the security of those shared pastes.

Themes and Color Schemes
"We've revised the Komodo color schemes, and Tomorrow Dark—a dark-based scheme—is now the new default Komodo color scheme. Komodo now appears even better thanks to a UI upgrade to bring it in line with the most recent operating systems. Additionally, we included the option to adjust the line height spacing in the editor."

Notifications: Previously displayed in the Komodo status bar, notification messages are now displayed to the user in a separate popup panel that sits on top of the main Komodo editing window. You may now utilize Komodo in a more straightforward and educational way and stop wondering, "What just happened?"

Icons for Languages
Language icons have been updated with new colors and symbols to make them recognizable and uniform. You'll always have different icons for every language since Komodo creates new icons on the fly for filetypes it hasn't met before.

A fresh SDK for developers
Komodo's methods are now easier to load and access thanks to a revision of the Komodo APIs. It now loads individual modules using require() statements in CommonJS (also known as Node.js).
