It is never necessary to use proprietary runtime packages or dependencies. All packages are designed to meet Microsoft's Designed for Windows Logo certification requirements for application setup. 

Self-Healing Applications 
Use the InstallAware IDE's Advertised File Types option to create self-healing applications. No changes to your application files are necessary. 

Installation on demand. 
The InstallAware IDE's Advertised Shortcuts feature enables on-demand installation for your program. The source files can be placed in a Web Media Block, which accepts any URL or network file path and allows for remote download and installation. 

Elevated Privilege installations 
The app setups fully allow installation on secured or locked-down systems using the appropriate Group Policy settings. 

Windows Driver Installation Frameworks (DIFx) Support installation of drivers for x86, x64, and ia64 systems. Optionally check for the device's presence, manage signature warnings, and Add/Remove Program entries. Complete sample project is included.

Make it easy for your users to update their software by automating the notice, download, and setup steps. Provide limitless updates with no additional usage fees. Additionally, the updated client source code is included in your project, allowing for comprehensive customization. 

Web-Aware Installation Technology 
Reduce download size by removing technological requirements (such as the.NET Framework) and infrequently used features from your main setup file. The main setup will automatically download them from the web as needed. The files required for the minimum configuration are provided in the main package, which installs without a web connection. 

Superior compression. 
The LZMA compression method and BCJ2 compression pre-processors can help you reduce the size of your setups and download packages by up to 5 times. Only InstallAware supports advanced compression for Windows Installer installations and Merge Modules.

Create.NET installations and distribute the.NET Framework, including version 4.0. By delivering the Framework with Install Aware, advanced compression can minimize its size by up to 67%. 

Universal Database Support 
Execute SQL scripts on the Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, and My SQL platforms. There is no client software required on the target system to connect to the databases. SQL Server instances are now automatically discovered throughout the network. 

Java Installation Support 
Create Java application installations, including support for preinstalling Java Virtual Machines and runtime environments on Windows platforms. A complete project sample is included. 

Serial Number Generation 
A new sample project includes MSI code for creating a unique 25-digit serial number generator and validating serial numbers in your wizard depending on factors such as username, company, and/or other criteria. Serial numbers are not limited to a specific range of numbers. 

Multiple-Core Compression 
Dual-core, hyperthreaded, and multi-core processors are automatically detected, allowing compression operations to be distributed across several (logical) CPUs, resulting in linearly faster build times. 

Dynamic Feature Lists 
Using MSIcode and variables, define product features based on target circumstances or user entitlements. Only InstallAware supports feature-level adjustments at runtime. 

System Tray Minimized Setups 
The new System Tray MSIcode command minimizes your setup as an icon in the system tray. Use the MessageBalloon command to alert users when a process requires their attention. 

Schedule Windows Tasks. 
The new Schedule Task MSIcode command allows you to create jobs that execute on a local system. Check for internet connections, run programs, and specify command line options. 

Refined User Interface 
Deliver configurations that showcase the most recent visual motifs. 15 unique dialog themes, non-rectangular setup windows, and Flash and HTML billboards make your setups more engaging and interactive. 

Collect User Feedback and Product Registrations. 
An easily editable sample project shows how to handle online user registration as part of the installation process. When the project is uninstalled, it prompts the user for product feedback and sends it to your website. 

Dynamic User Validation. 
Use the included Authentication sample project to send parameters or credentials to your website and save the results to a local file where you can look for the appropriate authentication. Allow access to specific features or the complete setup. 

Automatic Removal of Previous Versions 
When a previous version is found, Install Aware will prompt you to uninstall it before proceeding with the installation – automatically. Other Windows Installer utilities just let the setup fail and exit. 

Autorun CD Browsers. 
Create a simple and fully customized wizard that shows immediately when your product CD is inserted, allowing users to begin setups, see instructions, open a web browser, and access resources on your website. All MSIcode functionalities are available in the CD Browser.
