HP Battery Check
The HP Battery Check is a simple software that is included with HP Notebook PCs and provides information on the status of the batteries installed. If the particular notebook has a secondary battery, it reports on both the primary and secondary battery's state.
Use the Online Battery Check diagnostic tool to detect and resolve your issue.
The Battery Check display panel divides the information across three indicator areas: installed batteries, health, and storage capacity. These indications refresh every five seconds. Messages on the panel provide important information regarding the battery's status and any necessary measures. To learn more about the current battery status, click the Help button.
The HP Battery Check program displays three indicators of the current battery status: charge remaining, battery health, and storage capacity.
Battery and Adapter Problems
The Online HP Battery Check provides a simple yet accurate examination for notebook batteries. It gives complete information about the battery's state and recommends any necessary maintenance steps.
The Charge Remaining indication shows how much electrical charge remains on the battery. This value is also represented by the Power icon in the Windows system tray. If more than one battery is installed in the notebook, the Battery Check software displays the total battery power remaining. This figure represents the total remaining charge on all of the batteries installed in the laptop PC.
The Battery Health indicator shows the overall condition of all the battery cells in your battery. A notebook battery contains several cells. The Battery Health status is only relevant when the notebook is connected to an AC adapter and only one battery is installed.
If the Battery Health status is "Replace", one or more of the cells can no longer accept a charge, or the storage capacity is "Low", the battery should be replaced. Instructions on where to get a replacement battery or whether the battery is covered under HP warranty will be displayed.
If the Battery Health status is "Invalid", it means that the AC adapter is not connected, that more than one battery is inserted, or that the battery is not installed correctly. Please follow the Battery Check instructions to correct the problem.
The Storage Capacity indicator displays the amount of storage capacity left in the battery. A Lithium-Ion battery's storage capacity decreases with time. The rate of degradation is determined by how often the battery is used. Every time the battery is charged and drained, its storage capacity decreases, and the useful discharge time shortens. The battery will eventually need to be changed because its discharge duration is too short to be useful.
