HDD Low Level Format Tool
Low-Level Formatting is a word that refers to the disk formatting procedure. Data is saved on a disk in a predetermined location. This is how the physical format is created. The HDD Low Level Format Tool is a program that assists with this process. The factory is where the genuine Low-Level Formatting occurs. However, a tool like this one only does zero-fill operations.
Note: After using this low-level format program, the entire disk surface will be erased. Data recovery is impossible after using this utility!
Key Features
- Interfaces supported include S-ATA (SATA), IDE (E-IDE), SCSI, SAS, USB, and Firewire.
- Large drives (LBA-48) are supported.
- Manufacturers supported include Maxtor, Hitachi, Seagate, Samsung, Toshiba, Fujitsu, IBM, Quantum, Western Digital, and practically any other that is not listed.
- The program also allows for low-level formatting of FLASH cards (SD, MMC, MemoryStick, and CompactFlash) via a card reader.
Restore Your Hard Disk Drive to its Factory Configuration
The HDD Low Level Format Tool restores the hard drive's factory configuration. Every place on the hard drive disk has a zero-byte. This is how the setting is achievable. This procedure erases all data on your disk permanently.
If your hard disk has become corrupted or infected with a virus, you will need to restore it to factory settings. It is the only approach to address these kind of issues. Furthermore, this application hides defective sectors, allowing your data to be saved on a completely clean surface with no errors.
Simple interface.
The application's UI is straightforward and easy to use. When you select a device, you will be provided information about it such as the model number, serial number, buffer size, firmware version, physical specifications, security features, and queuing capabilities. If the drives support S.M.A.R.T. technology, you will receive a variety of information, including power cycles, spin-up time, read error rate, and power on time. You can also check the hardware temperature.
Supports several major models and brands.
HDD LLF works with a variety of devices, including flashcards (for those of you with card readers), firewire drives, and USB drives. The application also supports the largest hard disk manufacturers, including Samsung, Maxtor, Hitachi, Seagate, Western Digital, Quantum, and Toshiba. Due to the 50 MB per second constraint, the operation takes some time to complete. If you want to process a 2TB hard drive, it will take 12 hours.
Before you begin, make sure to plug in your target device because it will not be identified automatically by the application.
FAQ
My media should be much quicker, but I'm only receiving around 1.0-1.5 MB per second. Why is that?
The poor pace could be attributed to the use of a USB interface with a maximum data rate of 1.0-1.5 MB per second. Look into any issues with your USB ports. Another possibility is that the storage device has been damaged.
Before purchasing a license, I noted that the formatting tool was operating at approximately 10 MB per second. However, even after purchasing the license, the speed stays consistent. Why is this happening?
In free mode, the tool's performance is limited to 50 MB per second. If your media performs at less than 50 MB/s, you will not see any speed increase. The tool's speed is limited by the capacity of your storage device.
Can I install both the software and the license key on removable media, such as a USB stick or CD/DVD disc?
Yes, you can. Simply use the version that does not require installation, unpack it to your media, and then enter your licensing key into the llftool.license file, which is placed in the same directory as the main program.
