ExifTool is a command-line tool and platform-independent Perl module that may be used to read, write, and change metadata in a range of file types. 

In addition to the maker notes of numerous digital cameras made by Canon, Casio, DJI, FLIR, FujiFilm, GE, GoPro, HP, JVC/Victor, Kodak, Leaf, Minolta/Konica-Minolta, Motorola, Nikon, Nintendo, Olympus/Epson, Panasonic/Leica, Pentax/Asahi, Phase One, Reconyx, Ricoh, Samsung, Sanyo, Sigma/Foveon, and Sony are just a few of the numerous metadata formats that Exif Tool supports.

The following file formats can be read, written to, and/or created with ExifTool. For every file format, the support levels for additional metadata formats such as ICC_Profile, XMP, IPTC, and EXIF are also mentioned.
