DbSchema is a diagram-oriented database Windows PC software that works with all relational and many No-SQL databases, including MySQL, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MongoDB schema visualization, Redshift, SqlServer, Azure, Oracle, Teradata, and others.

Db Schema allows you to design the schema with or without a database, save the design as a project file, deploy the schema to different databases, and share the design with a team. Built-in tools enable you to graphically explore database data, create and execute queries, generate random data, create forms, applications, or reports, and much more. It can be tested for 15 days for free, with no registration necessary. It can run on any operating system.

Db Schema is designed to handle huge schemas and complex databases. Create meaningful relationships between tables and document the schema. Discover DbSchema layouts, virtual foreign keys, Relational Data Browse, interactive PDF documentation, and a variety of additional options.

Features and Highlights

Import database schemas

  • Load JDBC Driver
  • Connect to any JDBC-compatible database. Several DBMS have already been tested; however, more will be added later.
  • Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2 for Windows/Linux, Cache, DaffodilDB, FrontBase, HSQLDB, Informix, JavaDB/Derby, Microsoft SQL Server, Mimer, Pervasive, PointBase, Sybase SQL Anywhere, and Sybase ASE are among the
  • currently tested database management systems.
  • Tables, views, foreign keys, procedures, triggers, sequences, and comments can all be imported as schemas.

Edit database schema

  • Uses an abstraction layer between the internal database schema representation and the specific database.
  • Modify tables, columns, indexes, foreign keys, methods, triggers, sequences, and comments.
  • Edit your schemas. Layouts are used to graphically represent tables, views, foreign keys, and so on.
  • Create and use numerous Layouts inside a project.
  • Layouts may be dragged, paned, and zoomed with simple mouse movements.
  • Supports drag-and-drop from project tree to graphical layout.
  • Highlight foreign keys for a specific table that are triggered by delete events.
  • Generate SQL statements straight from the schema's graphical layout.
  • Generate schema scripts for any given database.
  • Change the schema data types from one database to another.
  • Schema editing is supported offline.

Browse database data

  • Browse data from numerous tables at once.
  • Apply filters to browse data.
  • Order and view data in one or more columns.
  • Browse depth is unlimited.
  • Paginates allows you to browse data.
  • View one or more records.
  • Create, update, and delete records.
  • View Large Objects (LOB) fields as images, HTML, text, or via an external application.
  • Saves browse sessions in the project file so they can be accessed again later.

Edit and execute SQL

  • Edit SQL statements.
  • Syntax highlights include database keywords, functions, tables, and view names.
  • Autocomplete for table, view, and column names.
  • Quickly click and show tables or columns in the SQL pane, then in Layout.
  • Execute SQL statements individually or as scripts.
  • After executing the query, paginate and order the SQL results.
  • Maintain several SQL result panels, and refresh query results.
  • Explain the SQL execution plan.
  • Working sessions using SQL scripts are saved in the project file and can be resumed later.

Schema Synchronization

  • Synchronize the project schema with another project or database.
  • List the schema differences.
  • Choose which differences to preserve, whether on a local or distant schema.
  • Create merge SQL scripts based on schema differences.
  • Upload differences to a database, with automated step-by-step execution.
  • Synchronize schemas offline to enable teamwork.

Scripts and documentation

  • It generates SQL schema generation scripts for any database.
  • Comments can be used to document tables, columns, foreign keys, indexes, and so forth.
  • Creates an HTML document from the schema specification.
  • Print schema layouts with exact control over real print size via the Zoom print tool.
  • Creates schema layout picture files in a few formats (PNG [raster] or SVG [vectorial]).
  • The Database Template System allows you to build, change, and maintain database templates.
  • Several Database Templates are already available, but new ones can be learned by connecting to the target database.
