AutoIt

AutoIt is a freeware BASIC-like programming language intended for automating the Windows GUI and general scripting. It automates activities using a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement, and window/control manipulation, which is not possible or reliable in other languages. AutoIt is also very compact, self-contained, and will work on all versions of Windows out of the box, without the need for bothersome "runtimes"! 

It was originally built to reliably automate and set up thousands of PCs during "rollout" situations. Over time, it has evolved into a robust language that supports complex expressions, user functions, loops, and everything else that experienced scripters expect. 

It was meant to be as tiny and stand-alone as possible, with no external.dll files or registry entries required, making it suitable for use on servers. Aut2Exe allows you to compile scripts into standalone executables. 

Also included is a combined COM and DLL version of the app called AutoItX, which allows you to incorporate the program's unique capabilities into your preferred scripting or programming languages! It has a BASIC-like syntax, so most individuals who have written scripts or used high-level languages should be able to pick it up quickly. 

The tool is a very lightweight, independent application that does not rely on large runtimes like NET or VB. To run the scripts, all you need is the main app executable (AutoIt3.exe) and the script. Scripts can also be encoded as independent executables using the built-in script compiler Aut2Exe. 

Much time has been spent improving the keystroke and mouse simulation capabilities to ensure maximum accuracy across all Windows versions. All of the mouse and keyboard routines are extremely customizable, both in terms of simulation "speed" and functionality.
