Autodesk SketchBook for PC is a drawing app and painting software that helps digital artists and illustrators develop by providing professional-grade perspective tools and an easy-to-use interface. Complete painting and drawing software!

Autodesk SketchBook is now called Sketchbook Pro.

The UWP version of the software, which was originally provided by Autodesk through the Microsoft Store, could not be transferred due to technical requirements on the store backend.

People who have this version can still use it, but it will not be updated. The new Sketchbook Pro edition is now available in the Microsoft Store, although it is designed for desktop use with a pen peripheral. It will operate on a Windows tablet, but it is not yet optimized for the tablet experience.

Autodesk SketchBook sketching software for Windows computers is a fun and user-friendly paint and drawing utility that can turn your computer into an ideal artist's toolset. The user-friendly interface, which includes tools meant for professional painters, illustrators, and designers, can help anyone discover their inner artist. Autodesk's SketchBook 2024 is specifically built to operate with pen tablets such as Wacom Bamboo, Intuos, and Cintiq products, as well as Windows tablet computers, to provide an authentic drawing experience.

Features & Highlights

Draw without distractions.
A genuinely exquisite design understands when to move aside. The UI remains incognito until you're ready to grab a pencil, pen, marker, or paintbrush. Instead than getting lost in the menus, let your creativity take over.

Feels like drawing.
Go large with a drawing engine that can handle a 100 megapixel canvas while retaining the zoomed-in feel of traditional sketching. Professionals rely on its accuracy and speed, but primarily because it feels right.

Paper to digital in a snap.
Your device's camera has now become a scanner. Scan Sketch will import your line drawing with a translucent background, suitable for inking and coloring.

Available across all your devices.
You bring your phone with you everywhere. With a SketchBook subscription, you can take your ideas and artwork with you.

Familiar tools in a digital space.
Pencils, inks, markers, and over 190 customisable brushes that can include textures and forms. Illustrators appreciate the exclusive Copic® Color Library.

Serious Innovation (When You Want It)
To draw exact lines, use standard rulers and elliptical guides. Or embrace assistive magic with 16-sector Radial Symmetry and Predictive Stroke, which smoothes and corrects shapes. (Your secret is safe with us.)

PSD is suitable with all devices.
Export your work as JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, and, of course, PSD. Layered PSDs are entirely retained (both when imported and exported), including layer names, groups, and blending modes.

A designer's best friend.
Product designers, architects, automakers and industrial designers utilize SketchBook for Windows PC to quickly iterate and convey their ideas.

How To Use

Download and install: Begin by downloading and installing the SketchBook or SketchBook Pro app on your PC or mobile device. You can get the software from the Autodesk website or your device's app store.

Familiarize Yourself with the UI: Open the app and explore the UI. Tools, brushes, and options are grouped into many panels and menus. The interface may differ significantly based on the version you're using, but the core features stay same.

Create a New Canvas: To begin a new drawing, click "File" and then "New." Set the canvas size and resolution based on your preferences or project specifications. You can select from a variety of preset sizes or create your own.

Select Tools and Brushes: It provides a variety of tools and brushes for creating your artwork. The toolbar usually includes basic tools such as a pencil, brush, eraser, and selection tools. Experiment with several brushes and change their settings, such as size, opacity, and flow, to create the desired look.

Draw and Paint: Begin drawing or painting on the canvas using your chosen brush. On a touchscreen device, you can use a stylus or your finger, while on a computer, use a graphics tablet with a pen. It features pressure sensitivity, which allows you to produce different strokes according on how much pressure you use.

Use Layers: Layers help to isolate distinct components of your artwork and make editing easier. Layers enable you to work on certain portions of the drawing without impacting the rest of it. You can add, delete, merge, and change the opacity of layers as needed.

Utilize Tools and Features: Use SketchBook's additional tools and features to improve your artwork. These could contain symmetry tools, rulers, perspective guides, fill and gradient options, text tools, and more. Take advantage of these elements to give your works more depth and complexity.

Customize Settings: It provides a variety of settings that you can use to adapt the application to your liking. You can change the brush behavior, canvas settings, color options, and interface preferences. Spend some time exploring these options and modifying them as needed.

Save and Export: When you're finished with your artwork, save it in SketchBook format (.skbrushes) to keep all of the layers and editing options. You may also export your artwork in a variety of file formats, including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and PSD, for future editing or sharing.
