Agent DVR is a security manager app that can help users of all skill levels set up a unified way to safely connect and watch over an infinite number of Nest cameras from afar. Built from the ground up to give users a wide range of tools, an easy-to-use interface, and reliable access to surveillance camera security system infrastructure of all kinds, from keeping an eye on a single home to businesses with dozens or even hundreds of cameras.

Home Security

Instead of working on making a separate Windows client app with a local user interface, the live camera streams can be accessed directly from any modern browser. This means that users can connect to their camera networks from anywhere in the world. It's only necessary for the Windows app to connect the cameras on the local network and send the feed to a safe online server. Anyone with the right login information can then access the feed.

You can get Agent DVR online as an automatic installer that is easy to set up on any new Windows PC running a new version of Windows OS (7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11, 32-bit and 64-bit). It's very small (less than 200kb), and you can even save it to a USB stick and take it with you as a portable tool. Once the app is loaded, it won't have its own interface. Instead, it will run in the background as a Windows service that lets you share Nest camera feeds securely with the online server using end-to-end SSL encryption.

Theft Prevention

After that, users can easily log in with their credentials on a secure website. From there, they can view camera feeds on any modern device that can connect to the internet, such as iOS and Android phones and tablets. It's important to know that Agent DVR can send live camera feeds online without making home or business routers forward ports.

The web interface is easy to use and has a tabbed layout. The main navigation links are always on the far left side of the screen and are labeled as Account, Servers, Tools, Timeline, Files, Snapshots, Live Stills, Video Walls, and Command. The page's rest of the content is information listings, live camera views, and more. Users have quick access to their cameras and can record movies and screenshots as well as see a timeline of what the cameras have seen.

UI scales across all modern platforms, including phones, tablets, and desktops.

The service supports a lot of advanced features that Nest cameras can do, like finding people in video feeds, recognizing faces, and recognizing pets. It can even use the Google Vision API to automatically tag events in feeds when certain things happen, like people showing up, faces being recognized, and more. Aside from Nest cameras, Agent DVR can also find and send feeds from other camera brands.
