Some laptops use clock modulation and multiplier reductions to improve computing performance and power efficiency. This is done on purpose to either allow your computer to run cooler or to allow your laptop to work with a power adapter that is insufficient to fully power your laptop while also charging its battery. 

When utilizing Throttle Stop, it is strongly advised to check power consumption at the wall with a Kill-a-Watt meter or similar device to ensure that you do not exceed your power adapter's power capacity.
