TeraCopy is free software that makes moving and copying files easier and safer. A common issue with later versions of Windows is that it takes a long time to copy files, especially when sending a lot of them over a network. If you want to copy files faster or often send large amounts of data but need to stop the process to do something else that uses a lot of disk space, this tool might be just what you need.

TeraCopy is made to copy and move things as quickly as possible. During the copying process, it skips over bad files. At the end of the process, it shows you which ones need your attention. Through the CRC checksum values, TeraCopy can instantly look for mistakes in the copied files. It also tells you a lot more about the items you're copying than the Windows version does. The app works with the right-click menu in Windows Explorer and can be set to be the usual copy handler.

Easy-to-fix issues 
If there is a copy mistake, the tool will try to fix it. If that doesn't work, it will just skip the problematic file instead of ending the transfer. You can also tell it to wait for the network or device to reconnect. To speed up the transfer, things that aren't needed can be skipped. During the process, the program lets you know about any mistakes it finds and lets you fix them before copying only the affected files again. 

File verification 
After copying, the tool can check the files to make sure they are the same. To do this, the hashes of the source and target files are put next to each other. The following algorithms can be used: xxHash, Panama, RipeMD, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, CRC32, and MD5. 

Confirm the drop and drag 
The tool can show a confirmation dialog box after each drag-and-drop action if the user wants it to. Moving folders from one place to another by mistake can be avoided because of this.

You can see which folders are open in Explorer and other file managers, and the software can keep track of that.

Note: There are no advanced features for managing file lists. TeraCopy is free as long as you don't use it for business.
